What are we creating?

We are developing an internet based image library specialising in learning disabilities.
Traditionally people with learning disabilities are poorly represented in image libraries.
Our aim is to provide high quality positive images of people with learning disabilities.

What type of photographs will the library contain?

Most of the images will show people but there will also be some photographs of equipment, objects, places and conceptual images that contain people but don’t identify any individuals.
We want to cover as many different issues within learning disabilities as possible. This will allow users of the library to easily find relevant pictures.
We ensure that everyone involved has a chance to look at their photographs. This means that everyone has a say in which of their images appear in the library.

Who is the library for?

The library is for professional individuals and organisations working to promote learning disabilities in a positive way. We will only allow registered users access to the photographs allowing us to clarify who they are and the intended use of the images.
