Windows of Opportunity

Posted on July 22nd, 2009 with 0 comments

Nottingham City Council are looking at ways to transform empty retail units in the City into something more than a blank window.

One of the initiatives is to give local creative businesses and individuals an opprtunity to display their work in the empty units.

It’s a great opportunity to get your work showcased to a wide audience and Crocodile House has applied to the scheme to display the ‘Recognition’ anti-stigma exhibition which it completed for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust last year.

More details to follow.

Thisability 3

Posted on July 20th, 2009 with 0 comments

Crocodile House is about to start on the third part of the ‘Thisability’ anti-stigma project for the Learning Disability Directorate of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Following the success of the last projects in 2006 and 2008 the latest project will capture the campus reprovision programme; where people living as patients in long-term care provided by the NHS will be moving into their own homes or shared houses with others.

The programme is occurring in Worksop, Mansfield and Newark and the project will capture how this affects the residents, staff, parents and carers involved over the next couple of years.

Below is a recent Nottingham Evening Post article about one of the first people to be moving.

Crocodile website goes live

Posted on June 29th, 2009 with 0 comments

After much anticipation we are glad to announce the launch of our new website. It may not look very different to what it was before but there’s been plenty of behind the scenes work by Eventure in rebuilding the site in Wordpress. This means that we now have full editorial control of the site and can ensure that the most up-to-date and relevant information is always available to our clients.

You might also notice that we’ve now got more pages promoting our specialism in Health and Social Care Photography and Design.

We have also made improvements to the Login area where clients can view their photographs, approve design proofs and be kept up-to-date with the progress of their projects in a much more user-friendly way. It’s all aimed at making things easier and more efficient for our clients and maintaining excellent communications.

We would love to hear any comments you have about the site. Just use the form below.

BILD: Annual Behaviour Support Conference – York

Posted on May 11th, 2009 with 0 comments

Just returned from a couple of days photographing the BILD Annual Positive Behaviour Support Conference at the Royal Hotel in York. Crocodile House was there to capture workshops, key note speakers, evening entertainment by Mixit Music and also some general conference ’stock shots’ for future BILD use.

There were some great workshops going on but in particular I was fortunate enough to photograph a presentation by Paul Moores form Calderstones NHS Trust who spoke about his personal experience of self injury. This was a fascinating, candid and sometimes humerous insight into a difficult subject and Paul was a fantastic speaker who would put most ‘professionals’ to shame.

Top Dog

Posted on April 27th, 2009 with 0 comments

Dipper, the part time office dog, recently had her first official modelling job for Crocodile House.

Local business, Water at Work, needed flyers to promote their new product range of Pet Safe Water Bowls and we needed a well behaved model to show off the product to it’s full potential.

After lengthy negotiations Dipper agreed and firmly disproved that you should never work with animals (the jury’s still out on children).

See what a true pro she was by visiting Water at Work

Easter Treats

Posted on April 6th, 2009 with 0 comments

As part of their Easter campaign to highlight the danger of feeding your dog ‘human’ chocolate, Armitages are promoting their Good Boy Dog Choc Drops by donating packs to the working dogs from 104 Military Working Dog Support Unit based at MoD North Luffenham in Rutland. Supplies will also go out to dogs currently working in Afghanistan.

Crocodile House went along to capture the dogs enjoying the choc drops and being put through their paces on the agility course.

Dave recently photographed the Build for the Future event at BILD’s headquarters in Kidderminster, capturing a wide range of dynamic images.

Build for the Future is an advisory group of people with learning disabilities, their carers and supporters established by BILD in 2006. The group meet regularly throughout the year to help develop BILD and take a view on issues that matter to people with learning disabilities.

Capturing Mental Health

Posted on February 6th, 2009 with 0 comments

Crocodile House were photographing in Lincoln recently at the Peter Hodgkinson Centre, Acute Services Day Hospital (Lincolnshire Partnership NHS  Trust). We needed a variety of Mental Health related images for an Integrated Care Pathway design project which we had recently undertaken. We had a very enjoyable morning with staff and in-patients making us very welcome and were able to get a fantastic range of images. These will be used to compliment the Integrated Care Pathway which will be published later in the year.

Many thanks to Donna Bradford, Team Leader and the staff and in-patients at the Centre.

(We won’t go into details of what happened when we tried to take photos of the prison on the way out of the car park.)
